Welcome to the Crockett High School class of 1979 Wiki.
This site was created as a means to keep in touch with fellow alumni out there - wherever you guys may be. Feel free to browse through this website, add your own pages, posts photos of your family, friends, edit pages that are already created and just have FUN!
Our 30th Class reunion is just around the corner guys and we'll need everyone's help to make it a reality!

This wiki is a collaboratively written website created by the Crockett High School class of 1979. That means you add the images and info. Thirty-year Reunion Events

Crockett High School Class of '79

The Thirty-year reunion events are:

þ Friday Night at the Hill Country Pasta House, 7 to 10 pm Friday, June 19th; we’ll gather at the outdoor Garden Pavilion at the Hill Country Pasta House, 3519 RR 620 North Austin, TX. 78734. The pavilion has plenty of room for visiting, light appetizers provided and drinks will be available for purchase. Dress is casual.

þ Flintrock Falls Golf Tournament – Saturday morning For Golf Lovers, Flintrock Falls on Lake Travis is golf heaven! Located in the beautiful Texas Hill Country, Flintrock Falls is built around one of Central Texas' Premier Country Clubs - The Hills Country Club. Shotgun start at 8 am. Sign up now on the wiki to secure your spot at this fantastic golf course and laugh at your old classmates! Spouses and friends welcome. Dress code includes collared shirt, golf pants or khaki shorts and golf shoes (soft cleats).

Tickets: $35 per golfer by mail / $40 at the event (space permitting)

þ Saturday Night at the Pavilion at Flintrock Falls Clubhouse, 6 to 10 pm Located in the Hills of Lakeway at the Hills Country Club. Includes wrap-up activities, awards, and more visiting! Mexican buffet provided including fajitas, quesadillas, taquitos, and all the fixings. Cash bar! Dress is casual.

Tickets: $30 per person by mail / $40 at the door. You can access the order form by clicking on the attachment button at the bottom of this page. Please complete the order form and mail it to us with your payment; you will receive a confirmation email or phone call to confirm receipt.

Gayla Diane Corbin Gault died Sunday, Sept. 30,2008
Born March 25, 1961, in Norman, she moved with her family to Austin, Texas, in 1968 where she lived until making her home in New Braunfels, Texas, in 2001. On July 11, 1981, Gayla married her high school sweetheart and soul mate Charlie Gault. It was the beginning of a love story that will never be forgotten, family said. Being a mother to two boys she loved very much completed her. She always edified life with her gentle spirit as a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, family said.
Gayla is survived her husband, Charles Gault; her two children, Corbin Gault and Dillon Gault of New Braunfels

Deron Carl Gustafson, the son of former Texas baseball coach Cliff Gustafson , has died. He was 46. (Jan. 4, 2006)
Deron Gustafson's death Thursday at a Houston hospital was confirmed by the Texas sports information department. He had suffered from liver disease in recent years, his father told the Austin American-Statesman. He checked into an Austin hospital Dec. 22 and was told his liver was working at 15 percent capacity, his father said. He was transferred to Houston's Memorial Hermann Hospital and had hoped to get a liver transplant.
Deron Gustafson played a season at Ranger Junior College before joining the Longhorns. He was on the '83 championship team, hitting .306 in 18 games as a backup second baseman. He is survived by his wife, Julie; a daughter, Crosby; his father and his mother, Janie; and his sisters, Jill Balderama and Jan Shepperd.

David Dan Sembritzky, 47, a loving husband, father and brother, passed away at his home with his wife and close friends on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008. David had battled glioblastoma multiforme, a form of brain cancer, for 2 1/2 years.
David was born Nov. 28, 1960, in San Jose, Calif., to the late Gustave and Colleen Sembritzky. He graduated from the University of Texas in 1984 with a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering. Following graduation, David relocated to Dallas-Fort Worth to begin employment at Bell Helicopter Textron, where he worked for the next 22 years. David met his future wife, Sally Ohngren, at the Fort Worth Jingle Bell 5K in November 1994. They married in December 1996 and began their family with the birth of their first son, Garrett, in 1998. Two more sons followed, Jake in 2000 and Luke in 2005. David enjoyed sailing, biking, planting trees, composting and spending time with close friends. He was a leader, self-starter, and honest to a fault. Always working for the greater good, David was "green" before green was cool. Above all, David cherished his family and friends. We cherished him, too, and he will be sorely missed.

Friday night, June 19th, 7-10 pm-Gathering at the Hill Country Pasta House Outdoor Pavillion
Light appetizers will be served and cash bar available. Dress is casual.

Saturday, June 20th at 8am-Golf tournament at Flint Rock Falls in Hills of Lakeway. Sign-up listed on Reunion Events. Dress code required to participate.

Saturday-No activities are scheduled during the day except for the golf. We encourage you to contact other people attending to set up a lunch or gathering.

Saturday evening, June 20th, 6-10pm-Dinner at the Flint Rock Falls Country Club Pavillion. Country club casual.

Alumni Wiki Guidelines

Image Size & Quality:

Images make a Wiki stand out. There are a few things to keep in mind when you find, select and format images. Good quality images are nice and great for the site. Blurry or small images are unprofessional and, well, plain old ugly. Here are some guidelines/suggestions for use when adding images to the Alumni Wiki.

Keep in mind that pages are generally formatted when you go in to edit them. Try to stick to the standard format as much as possible. This makes the page easy for navigation for everyone and also conforms to the standard resolution size of an individual's monitor.
Try not to use the Wiki's built-in picture resizer. Try and resize the images before you upload them to the Wiki. There's a few free picture editor's out there, Picasa is one of them. Using the Wiki's built-in picture resizer tends to destroy the quality of the image.
Keep pictures standard size and manageable. Check out the other pictures on the page you are adding to and format your pictures so that they are roughly the same size. Some of the images you are uploading may require cropping. While something might look outstanding on your monitor, it will look completely different on someone else's. Not everyone uses the same resolution on their monitor.
Do not post poor quality photos. If an image is too small - you can't increase the size. Increasing the image size of a small photo causes distortion and poor quality. Remember not everyone has 20/20 vision so keep that in mind if you decide to add a small photo. You'd like for the image to be clear and viewable by all.
When uploading photos to the Photo Gallery, please try and name your photo. As we have time, we organize the photo gallery by "albums" and it's easier if the photo has a title than leaving it "untitled."

Image Do's & Don'ts

Do not duplicate images that are already on the site. Duplicating images takes up space when it can be used for some great content or another good quality photo. Any duplicate images will be deleted.
Any poor quality photos will be deleted. If images are too small, too blurry or distorted, they will be deleted from both the photo gallery and the page they are on.
Any inappropriate photos will be automatically deleted. The member who posted them will be sent a private message letting them know why. There's a variety of terms to be used for inappropriate, use your judgment. What may be acceptable in one area is not in another.
